Latest Plot Twist

Persephone stood on an empty shore, lost in her thoughts. The itching in the back of her head had finally ceased, and she no longer suffered debilitating migraines or seizures. Skia, it seemed, had surrendered.

She stood for hours, watching the waves relentlessly pound into the coast, her legs buried deep into the sand. She flexed her hands, her expression stoic; and a vine shot toward her from the soil farther inland, wrapping itself around her wrist. She made a fist, and the plant wilted. She blinked once and shifted seamlessly into a mare, then a crocodile, then a lynx. Blinking once more, she appeared in her human form. Leaning her head back, Persephone hummed a discordant melody, enjoying the feel of the breeze tossing her hair behind her.

It was time.
